Favourite Photos

From the 60 photos that I took on my walk, I have narrowed it down to 4 favourites. I have also created a interactive map to pin point where I took those photos.

Out of all the 60 photos I took, this one is my favourite. I admire the shape in this photo, in particular the triangles of the roof tops. On the picture on the right I have purposely pointed out the lines and shapes included in this photo. Another element of this photo that I like is the sky, on the day this photo was taken it was gloomy and this has been well captured in this picture.

As part of the task I was requested to take some close-up photos. This is my chosen close-up photo that I have taken. One of the main features of a close up photo is capturing detail, in this photo I believe I have achieved this. The detail being the wood worm and the split in the middle of the wood.

Here is another photo that I have picked out of the 60 photos, I particularly like this photo as I have managed to catch a reflection in the ground via the puddle. Immediately looking at this photo you can get the sense of the conditions on the path, muddy, soggy and wet – conditions that people from Yorkshire are so used to.

This photo was a trial, I had never previously made use of the panoramic camera feature on my iPhone. After a few attempts I managed to take this image. I like the idea that you can capture 180 degrees of your view. The landscapes available in Yorkshire are stunning and rich with greenery so this picture fits well.

A walk around Horsforth

As part of my news year’s resolution I decided that I was going to make more effort to go outdoors and get some exercise. Fittingly my Image Creation lecturer challenged us to go on a walk and photograph it. He provided a map for us which led us on a walk around Horsforth – the local area that surrounds Leeds Trinity University.

This is the Map that we were provided with.

I made sure when taking my photos that I had a good variety that had different features. I have taken photos that demonstrate:

  • Close- up’s
  • Reflection
  • Landscape
  • Shape

Take a look at my photos on the next page and decide for yourself which category they fall into.
